This week, we have been exploring what it means to eat healthy. We have made our own version of the Healthy Living Campaign by the government... ta-dah!
The children looked at the different fruits and vegetables.
We explored the textures, smells and tastes of our different foods. We paid close attention to the details, the different characteristics of each fruit or vegetable and which ones we think are our favourites.
A bit of still-life painting is in order, we think!
We peeled some garlic and Brussels sprouts. We got absolutely hooked on peeling those lovely onions... did you know these have shiny skin underneath? Four children peeled a total of ten white onions, two red ones, and a whole garlic! The smell covered the whole room, and the chefs were more than pleased with our efforts... you're welcome!
We couldn't help ourselves, after just a few minutes of counting them, we just had to eat the tomatoes and juicy carrots! It was really funny because when we washed the carrots, some water left-over from the leaves sprinkled onto us!
Now for a spot of cooking... measure the ingredients carefully, children!
Oops... there goes the pineapple! A delivery truck is driving away with it!
Healthy Living means eating good food, getting plenty of exercise, fresh air, healthy habits and lots of friends working and playing together!
Next week, we will be mostly exploring the colour
Blue!
