Planting and Growing

This week, we have been learning about plants, how to grow and take care of them.

So, how do plants grown then? First, we need to do a little research...

Before planting, we have to prepare the soil. We used big and small tools to dig and turn the soil over to loosen it for the seeds to have an easier time to grow.

Adding a bit of special sand will help, too.

We marked a line which follow when we sprinkle the seeds. A gentle sprinkle of water, lovely sunshine and lots of TLC and we will have baby plants in no time!

The children planted radishes, beetroots, carrots, green peas and sweet peas. Here's hoping for a bumper crop in a few months (fingers crossed).

Meanwhile, indoors, the children have been printing with our celery stalks, cotton buds and some Brush-O. They made different-coloured fish scales and little colourful lines. The children also made splattery marks when they pretended to sneeze on the drops of coloured water.
