Barnardo`s Big Toddle (Elephant Room)
We had an Outer Space Adventure this June!
Before setting off, we talked about how to stay safe while walking along the road. We had to walk two by two so we chose our own partners. Some Mummies and Nannies also joined in the fun.
The children saw lots of space dust, a couple of space dogs, two space butterflies and alien stinging nettles!
It was so exciting, the children came in their space gear (we had three Buzz Lightyears!) and the ladies were stars!
When the children came back, they talked about space, stars, sun, black holes, rockets, the moon, rocket packs and planets. We read (and acted out) a really good book called "Whatever Next?"
The children have raised some lovely money for Barnardo's. Thank you!

Volcano experiment
Some of the children have been involved in building a volcano using the sand therefore we decided to experiment in making a scientific exploding Volcano.
We made our Volcanic mountain by compacting sand around a drinks bottle.
Red food colouring was added to Bicarbonate of soda and placed in the drinks bottle.
The children then took it in turns to pour vinegar into the bottle and watch what happens.....
The children discussed how hot 'Lava' is and one child said 'This is what killed the dinosaurs.'
The mixture foamed over the top of the bottle and we watched as it bubbled over the sand.

Outdoor fun in panda room
Exploring the hoops, pushing and rolling them.
Mixing together the sand water and bark.
We also like to do lots of mark making, using lots of pretty colours.
We also like to explore the water by splashing our hands in it.
Painting using water on the blackboard is one of my favourite things to do.
And I really like carrying, throwing and kicking the ball around the garden.
I really enjoy the sensory experiencesof the garden. The taste and texture of the sand and shells and watching the children laugh and chat.
I like to be driving around in the car when I am outside.
