Sea Creatures

This week we had so many fun activities.

We looked after our many sea creatures and build them a wonderful habitat where they can live alongside people.

We know all of the creatures' names: dolphin, killer whale, octopus, jelly fish, basking shark, swordfish, crab and lots of shells! 

And now, for some face -- er, body painting.

 We painted our hands.

 And our faces! We are the world's cutest sea creatures, including the rare sea butterfly.

 This week we have been talking about boats and water.

Many of the children are familiar with 'Grandpa Pig's Rowing Boat' story from Peppa Pig, but they were very excited to have our very own Kayak in the garden.

We had so much fun pretending to go on holiday.

Always stay safe in or out of the water!

At the Seaside: A Visit from our Friendly Neighbourhood Ice Cream Van!

When the Ice Cream Man Dropped By

While playing in the garden one day, the children thought they heard some very familiar music being played:

"When you go down to the woods today,

you're sure of a big surprise.

If you go down to the woods today,

you better go in disguise..."

Ooooohh... that's the Ice Cream Man's Van driving by.

But wait, he's actually stopped in our car park.

Happy days!

The children used real money to buy whatever ice cream or ice lolly they wanted.

Here we are...

We asked the Ladies to help us take the wrappers off, "Please, can you help me?" 

Cheese!

 Result!

It made our tongues turn all sorts of colours!

I wonder what flavours the Ladies would like?

Okay, it's our turn to sell some ice cream. Here is our first customer now!

Isn't it grand that we have "At the Seaside" as our Holiday Playscheme?

Summer Holiday Playscheme 'At the seaside'. Panda's

Last week's theme was 'Creatures of the Sea', some of the activities we explored was.....

Hiding and finding all the sea creatures in the bubbles.


Some of us got in to feel around and found it was easier to find the sea creatures.

Some of the big fish has really big teeth !!!




Some of the fishes were orange... some were yellow and some were blue. 






 We also looked at books and sang some songs about creatures of the sea.
 

 'Commotion in the ocean'

Snap snap goes the shark !!!

Snip snip goes the lobster !!

Wriggle wriggle goes the Jelly fish !!

We also made our very own rock pool in the dark tent.

"Let's go for a paddle.... but watch out for those crabs"!!!

We looked under the stones to see if the fish were hiding

 We found an Octopus, Shark, Whale, Crabs and Turtle

 We also have been doing some large scale painting and mark making using our hands and feet.

                               Oh no ... What a mess !!!

Look at me !! I really enjoyed crawling around in the paint.... and eating it !!

I really enjoyed rubbing the paint on my legs! Also kicking my legs on the paper to get paint all around me !

As we got ourselves soooo messy the ladies prepared us a bath to get as much paint off as possible.. it was lovely and warm.
