Have you ever been to the museum? The children not only made the Home Corner into our very own Pepperbox Museum of Dinosaurs, Fossils and Other Cool Stuff, they also help to make and print off some tickets to sell to people who would like to get in.
It is good to learn about the dinosaur's natural habitat and the importance of looking after our environment.
Out in the garden, Kirsty has made a swamp in which the rest of our friendly dinosaurs can play.
We also made some dinosaur bread. A little mixing, creativity, imagination, some flour, butter, water, sesame seeds, rosemary... and a lot of elbow grease! The rosemary sprigs will make our bread smell even nicer, and sesame seeds will give our dinosaurs some bumpy scales.
We took our finished freshly-baked dinosaurs outside and had a picnic. We discovered that we are brilliant bakers!
To get a good idea just how big the dinosaurs were when they were roaming the earth, the children decided to help make a gigantic cardboard mural to put up in the garden. Then, we slid individual photos of our children down its back as we shout, "Wheeeeeeeee!"
What a great idea to finally be able to slide down the dino's back!
While we were talking about sizes, it seemed a perfect time to compare heights.
Finishing off the week's activities, guess what we had for tea... dinosaur-shaped ham sandwiches. Yummy!
I don't understand... why won't they give me a high five? |
