Blue week ending in Snow Day!!

       Dolphin's Blue Week   

This week we have been doing lots of blue activities and discussing being healthy.

When making blue Playdough we needed to scoop the ingredients flour, water, salt and oil into a bowl carefully.

 To make the Playdough blue we mixed in blue paint. Please ask the ladies in Dolphin room if you would like the recipe.

           Blue Cakes                                                  

Before making Blue cakes we discussed with the children that it is important to eat them after we have had a healthy balanced meal.
Everything in moderation we say.

We were even allowed to use the electric whisk with care.

It doesn't look very nice but porridge oats and water is great fun to play with. The children discussed the texture referring to the mixture as sticky, cold and yucky.

One child made a mountain out of the mixture.

Colour Mixing

The children were guided in making different shades of blue for painting.
Mixing lighter and darker shades of blue to white and grey paint.

We got extremely messy when learning how to blow bubbles some of us could blow through the straw but other times we tried to drink the blue water mixture.

We hope you have enjoyed some fun in the snow today we certainly have at Nursery.

Making Snow Angels

We had to dig some of the hard snow to start our Pepperbox Snowman

Here we are rolling a ball to make the Snowman's body

Oops I fell over!

We could still carry on playing with our favourite equipment such as the see-saw

 Mr Snowman now has a head which also makes a very nice chair.

A carrot for a nose and a summer hat to keep him warm. He had eyes and a mouth made from bark.

Exploring Fruit and Vegetables

We explored some fruit in the garden. We looked at the size and colour.

We enjoyed fruit tasting.

 I'm not too sure about this one!

 I really like doing this! What can I try next?

 We talked about and drew pictures of some fruit. 

They were very colourful pictures.

We also did some vegetable printing. Come in and see our lovely artwork!
