Christmas Party

We had a great time at the Christmas Party!

There were games, dancing and exciting treats brought by the Magic Man. He performed silly tricks, most of which were because his magic didn't go the way he planned. We played tricks on him (like making coins appear where he doesn't want it yet!) and saying "Abracadabra!"


He sprinkled us with magic dust so we could join in the tricks. We also coloured a picture of a dog by waving our hands in the air!

Christmas Lunch

Monday was the start of a wonderful week of busy Christmas fun!

Our lovely chefs have cooked up a storm in the kitchen for everyone to enjoy. The ladies and children had a roast dinner complete with trimmings and a choice of Christmas log or raspberry cheesecake for pudding.

During our meal, we had a visit from Father Christmas! He made sure we were enjoying our food and are being good for the Big Day. He left us some gifts under the tree for us to open after lunch.

 
 

 

The children are still very busy making their Christmas Cards and souvenirs and practicing the ABC Nativity. Exciting times ahead, so enjoy the season!

 

Children In Need Week

Children In Need Week

We've been busy doing lots this week.

We made chocolate Cheerio cakes with raisins. We helped put all the ingredients into the large bowl and took turns to stir it all together.







We came into to nursery in our favourite pyjamas or our onesies.

 

 

 

We enjoyed lots of messy play too.

 

 

 

We really enjoyed splatter painting and getting all messy.

 

We wore some of our patterned and spotty clothes and we had our faces painted as Pudsey Bear.

 

 

 

 

                         "I have ears like Pudsey!"

 

We brought teddy bears in and had a picnic in our Home Corner.

We would like to thank everyone for their very kind donations. The money has been counted and sent to Children In Need.
Together, we managed to raise £60.
Well done everyone!

Children in Need 

Week Commencing 11th Nov

To support this worthy cause we plan a week of fun and crazy activities:

MONDAY: The Great Pepperbox Bake Off -

We'll be baking cookies, cupcakes, spotty pizzas, biscuits, fruit smoothies.

TUESDAY: Pyjama day -

Come dressed in pyjamas. We'll play games of 'sleeping bunnies' & sticky kids. We'll make mobiles and dream catchers. 

WEDNESDAY: Messy Play Day -  
We'll do splatter painting, roller ball painting, face painting and play with water balloons with paint in the garden.

THURSDAY: Patterns day - 
Come to nursery wearing spotty or patterned clothes. We'll play spotty games, parachute games and will look at patterns in our environment.

FRIDAY: Teddy Bears Picnic -
Bring your teddies to nursery for a picnic and songs and games. We'll play 'honey pot' game, bear hunt and 'Have you seen the teddy bear?'

Donation boxes will be in each of the rooms if you would like to make a contribution.

In Panda Room, We have been busy doing.....

 Drawing

We are learning to grip and control the pens

 We are learning about colors and the marks we make

 ...And sometimes what they taste like !!

 We have also been exploring the boxes, tubes and pots.

 We had fun banging, tapping, shaking and rolling them to see what sounds they made.

 Also the curiosity and wonder of what is inside, below, in and on the boxes and tubes.

 We have also been getting messy and doing some painting. 
(helping to make the tree for the display)

 We used brushes, rollers and scrapers to make lots of different effects.

 We quite liked the texture of the paint and used our  hands .....

 .... and mouths

 We have also been exploring different textured materials.

We have explored them by hiding, scrunching, throwing, feeling, rolling on and also found some dislikes with the texture of some of the materials.

Heuristic Play

We really like exploring and investigating the heuristic objects





Here we have wooden and metal objects, we like to use our imagination and use them to role play, test sounds, test ideas and explore texture. 

 We have also been enjoying the lovely Autumn weather of rain, sun and wind! 

We enjoy going out in all weather and exploring the fallen leaves, puddles and sand. 

 We like to combine the materials outdoors and see what happens.

Please remember.. Although we provide all weather suits,  please to bring spare clothes and wellies (old shoes) in as we do go out in all weathers.
