Elephant Room children explore fruit and vegetables.

The children in Elephant Room looked at paintings by the artist Giuseppe Archibaldo. He made funny pictures using fruit and vegetables. We really liked them, and decided to make our own faces using fresh fruit and vegetables.
We found we could make really good faces!
Then we added arms and legs. The body even had a belly button, which we thought was really funny!

Do you like my funny clown?

I'm making an alien!
Me too!And mine's got three eyes!

We hope you've enjoyed seeing the fun we had today.

The Pepperbox Cheese Show

The Cheese Show and Party!

The children held their very own annual Pepper box Nursery Cheese Show and Cheese Tasting Party! There were seven different types of cheeses that the children were keen to sample (along with crackers and refreshments, of course!), and, when they finished snacking on our lovely cheeses, the children were asked to take one little counting bear and place it near the cheese that they feel is the best-tasting to them. Most of the children "voted" for the one they liked and the adults tallied the results.

The overall winner is the all-time favourite: the Red Leicester!  The next in line was a the Cheddar.  The third placers are a triple tie with the Brie, Cranberry Wensleydale,  and Feta Cheese.

Awarding was made by the children using our numbers 1, 2 and 3 blue ribbons. Well done, everyone!
